「名前を持たない存在だけが住む谷」を舞台にした短編小説。その谷では、人の名前だけでなく、本や食品、日用品などのあらゆる物から名前が剥ぎ取られている。
A short story set in a valley inhabited only by nameless beings. In this valley, not only people’s names but also the names of books, food, and everyday objects have been stripped away.

ピーター・ラビット、西洋絵画、あるいはディズニー

数年前、仕事中に「ピーターラビット、西洋絵画、あるいはディズニー」という言葉が耳に飛び込んできました。同僚が得意先と電話で話していたのですが、しばらくの間、私はこの3つの言葉の奇妙な組み合わせに夢中になりました。
この言葉は、西洋絵画がミッキーのクッキーの型で抜かれたような印象を私に与えました。あるいは、ピーターラビットの水彩の挿絵をキャンバスに張ったような。ミッキーが四足歩行になるような。なぜかそれはとてもいい気分だったのです。
ではなぜその3つが、美術とは何の関係もないオフィスで聞けたのでしょうか。答えは同僚の電話ですぐに判明しました。しかし私は耳を塞ぎ、電車の中で口ずさみ、大切に家に持ち帰りました。
その日からこの言葉はこれまで聞いた教訓や、名文とされる言葉より大事なものとなりました。なんど頭の中で繰り返しても飽きず、解けないパズルのように私の頭を占領しました。本来なら石に言葉を刻み、後世の人までこの不条理な組み合わせを楽しんで欲しいところですが、私は布と糸で言葉を縫い付けました。文豪の名文や、新聞の一面の見出し、友人からのメール、ドラマの書き起こし、道端できこえた言葉を同様に並べ、言葉の意味の撹乱を試みます。
A chance encounter with the phrase “Peter Rabbit, Western painting, or Disney,” overheard at work several years ago, became the starting point of this work. The unexpected combination of unrelated words generated a vivid image, which was carried home and repeatedly revisited.
In this work, such disjointed phrases are stitched together with fabric and thread. Literary passages, newspaper headlines, fragments of conversation, and other texts are similarly combined to unsettle and reconfigure meaning.

A dialogue-free comic drawing. The story follows a protagonist who has become invisible and gradually comes to affirm their own existence.
静岡県三島市に住む人々の日記や、彼らが選んだ書籍（フルートの演習方法や方言、市の特産品に関する書籍）の文章を切り刻み、言葉を並び替えて詩を制作した絵画のタイトル集。
A collection of painting titles inspired by poems created by fragmenting and rearranging passages from diaries of people living in Mishima, along with texts from books they selected—such as those on flute practice methods, regional dialects, and the city’s local specialties.
